E-Horizon

Italian Automotive Makers Association

Who’s behind the scenes of the E-Horizon project

Who we are

AIMA – Associazione Italiana Makers Automotive A.P.S. – is a non-profit organization created to promote automotive culture and technology applied to mobility. Our mission is to build an environment where students, enthusiasts and young talent can develop real skills, work on real projects and grow through hands-on experience.

The association was born from a group of professionals and makers passionate about innovation, turning their love for cars, engineering and design into educational opportunities. AIMA is not just theory: we believe the best learning happens by experimenting, building and collaborating in teams—while developing technical, digital and creative skills.

AIMA

Our educational approach is based on lab activities, workshops, prototyping and simulations that let students experience the automotive world in a tangible way. Through these experiences, participants discover their strengths, test ideas and face stimulating challenges in a safe and collaborative environment.

History and organization

AIMA

AIMA comes from the experience of a group of makers passionate about automotive and technology who wanted to turn their passion into concrete learning opportunities for students and young professionals. The association’s foundation marked the start of a journey combining education, innovation and practice—creating a unique applied training model in Italy’s automotive sector.

Over the years, AIMA has developed structured programs and partnerships with schools, universities and industry companies, becoming a national reference point for those who want to grow through real projects. We created labs, workshops and learning pathways ranging from vehicle and prototype design/build to managing technology systems and advanced simulators—offering high-value practical experiences.

AIMA’s structure is guided by a board that coordinates activities, manages partnerships and promotes new initiatives. This body leads the association’s strategy, supervises projects and ensures every activity aligns with our core values: education, innovation and personal growth.

Over time, AIMA has combined tradition and innovation, building an educational ecosystem where students and young talent can develop skills, use cutting-edge tools and face real challenges—becoming active drivers of their own learning journey.
